    • Accurate and Complete: The data must be correct and free of significant gaps. An AI model is only as good as the data it learns from.

      Example: If we want to build a model to predict client attrition, but 40% of our clients are missing up-to-date risk tolerance scores or have incomplete meeting notes, the model's predictions will be unreliable.
    • Consistent & Standardized: The format and meaning of data must be consistent across all systems.

      Example: One system might list a client's state as "CA," another as "California," and a third as "Ca.". An AI model would treat these as three different locations. We need standardized taxonomies for things like asset classes, transaction types, and client segments.
    • Governed and Secure: We must have clear ownership and governance rules for our data. Who is responsible for data quality? What are the permissions for accessing sensitive client information? All AI initiatives must comply with SEC regulations and data privacy standards to protect our clients and the firm. This is non-negotiable.

      Example: For a system that generates personalized market commentary, we need daily, not quarterly, portfolio performance data. Similarly, high-level AUM data is useful, but granular transaction history is required to understand a client's specific trading behavior.
