FAQ

Invent is a cloud-native intelligent application and data enterprise platform purpose-built for RIAs, broker-dealers, and wealth management enterprises. It unifies fragmented data from 100+ connected systems into a single, governed data lakehouse — then layers agentic AI, intelligent workflow automation, and modular application development on top of that trusted foundation. Think of Invent as the connective tissue between your technology ecosystem: the governed data substrate that every application and AI agent in your firm can rely on.
Invent serves registered investment advisors (RIAs), broker-dealers, and enterprise wealth management firms. It is designed for organizations managing complex, multi-custodian environments where data fragmentation, manual reconciliation, and disconnected technology stacks create operational drag — and for those looking to build or deploy AI-powered capabilities on a governed, compliance-ready data foundation.
Invent is organized into three layers:

Foundation — the data lakehouse and master data management layer. Ingests, cleans, and governs all firm data into a single source of truth.

Evolution — a library of published applications and workflow tools built on the Foundation layer, including analytics dashboards and pre-built advisor workstations firms can deploy immediately.

Invention — the development layer, including the AI Application Development Framework and Experience Builder, enabling firms and developers to build custom applications and AI agents 10x faster using Invent's governed data and pre-built wealth management components.
The Experience Builder is Invent's modular application assembly layer. It allows firms to rapidly deploy role-specific micro-apps and hyper-personalized workstations tailored to every advisor and staff member — without requiring full custom development. It draws on the same governed data layer as all other Invent applications, ensuring consistency across every user experience the firm deploys.
Invent has been recognized as a Representative Vendor in the Gartner® Innovation Insight 2026 for AI-Powered Intelligent Applications and is included in the Gartner® Market Guide for Data Management Solutions in Banking. The company has also appeared on Inc.'s list of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies and was a finalist for the ThinkAdvisor Luminaries Awards 2024 and the Wealth Management Industry Awards 2025.
The Invent Data Lakehouse is the platform's core data foundation — a cloud-native, institutional-grade repository that ingests, cleans, and unifies custodian, data aggregators, TAMP data, performance, risk, financial planning, revenue, commission/advisory billing, insurance policy, annuity data, and all-around client level data from all connected systems into a single source of truth. It merges the analytical flexibility of a data lake with the structured querying power of a data warehouse. Firms typically see a 50% reduction in manual data errors and a 20% reduction in operational expenses after establishing their data foundation on Invent's Data Lakehouse.
Invent connects to 100+ business applications across the wealth management technology stack, including:

— Portfolio management: Black Diamond, Orion, Tamarac, SmartX
— CRM: Salesforce FSC, Practifi, Salentica
— Financial planning: MoneyGuide Pro
— Custodians and data providers
— Data infrastructure: Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft OneLake

Data adapters are pre-built for each system, significantly reducing the integration work required from your team.
FlexMart is Invent's semantic data layer — a business-logic engine that sits between the raw data lakehouse and the applications and AI agents that consume it. It translates complex financial data relationships, hierarchies, and calculations into consistent, business-ready definitions that any app or AI can query without needing to understand the underlying data model. FlexMart is what makes it possible for AI agents and custom applications to query the same data with the same business logic — regardless of the source system it came from.
Data governance is foundational, not an add-on. Invent provides secure access controls, data lineage tracking, and compliance monitoring across all integrated systems. Automated classification policies enforce data integrity and regulatory adherence. The platform supports WORM-compliant storage for SEC/FINRA recordkeeping requirements (Rules 17a-3, 17a-4, FINRA 4511) and includes full audit trails for all data operations.
The Invent MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server exposes Invent's governed wealth management data to AI models like Claude and ChatGPT in real time. It acts as a secure, structured bridge between your data lakehouse and any AI agent or application — enabling AI to reason over live client, portfolio, and firm data without requiring custom integrations for each AI tool you deploy. Invent provides the governed data substrate; the MCP Server is how your AI agents access it.
Launched in January 2026, Invent's AI Application Development Framework gives firms and developers a structured way to build custom AI-powered applications on top of Invent's governed data substrate. It provides pre-built connectors, wealth management data models, and agentic workflow components — enabling teams to deploy new AI applications in weeks rather than months. It is purpose-built for wealth management, so teams aren't starting from scratch with generic AI tooling.
Invent's FlexMart-powered workflow engine orchestrates complex, multi-system tasks autonomously — eliminating the manual "swivel-chair" operations that consume operations team capacity. Workflows can span multiple source systems, apply business logic consistently, trigger on data events, and deliver results to the right person or system without human intervention. The result is significantly reduced operational overhead and fewer human errors in routine processes.
Yes. Invent holds a SOC 2 Type II certification, audited by KirkpatrickPrice, with the most recent audit period ending December 31, 2024. The platform is built on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) infrastructure with Terraform-managed deployments, continuous security monitoring, and data retention policies aligned to SEC Rule 17a-4 and FINRA Rule 4511.
Invent's data retention architecture is designed to align with SEC Rules 17a-3 and 17a-4 and FINRA Rules 4511 and 4370. This includes support for WORM (Write Once, Read Many) compliant storage via Azure Blob Storage immutable policies, ensuring that records cannot be altered or deleted within their required retention periods. Audit trails, access controls, and data lineage tracking are built into the platform's core governance layer.
Invent employs continuous security monitoring, role-based access controls, and encrypted data pipelines throughout the platform. Data is protected at rest and in transit. The platform's cloud-native architecture on Azure provides enterprise-grade infrastructure security, and all deployments follow hardened configurations validated through the SOC 2 Type II audit process. Firms can also enforce data isolation between business units or client segments within a single deployment.
Yes. Invent is cloud-agnostic and can run on any major cloud provider or on-premises infrastructure. It supports Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft OneLake as underlying data platforms, and integrates natively with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Firms can deploy on their existing infrastructure or leverage Invent's managed environment — and the platform can save firms up to 60% on data lake costs compared to unmanaged alternatives.
Invent's modular architecture and pre-built data adapters are designed to compress deployment timelines significantly versus custom-built alternatives. Firms typically have a data foundation live within weeks, with pre-built integrations to major wealth management platforms eliminating the bulk of custom ETL work. The Experience Builder then enables role-specific applications and advisor workstations to be deployed on top of the live data layer rapidly — without waiting for full platform build-out.
Implementation is led by Invent's solutions and client delivery team, typically beginning with a data architecture discovery session to map the firm's existing systems, data flows, and business requirements. From there, integration configuration, data pipeline setup, and governance layer build-out proceed in parallel where possible. Invent's team works closely with the firm's operations and technology stakeholders throughout — and most firms are running live data in their environment well before the formal go-live date.
The best first step is a demo with the Invent team. We'll walk through the platform in the context of your firm's specific environment, data sources, and use cases. You can request a demo at invent.us/get-a-demo — or reach out to your Invent relationship manager directly if you're an existing client or partner.
